Introduction
Great Dunmow Baptist Church was founded in 1823 and moved to its present building, "The Ark" chapel in 1880. After sixty years without a pastor, Philip was appointed to this role in 1995.
In recent years, the range of activities the run by us has increased to include a Sunday school, “Bible Explorers” and a “Teen’s” group on Sunday afternoons and an after-school children’s club, “Crossroads” on Mondays.
Once a month on the second Tuesday, the chapel is open for refreshment and conversation and the distribution of literature at the market, which is held close by.
On Tuesday evenings, the Bible Study and Prayer Meeting is held in a members home in a relaxed atmosphere, where we are lead by the pastor in a Bible study and discussion, followed by a time of open prayer to which anyone may contribute if they wish to. The evening ends with refreshments and conversation.
Once a quarter, the ladies get together with those from other local churches for a time of Bible study, prayer and fellowship.
